News today seems dull.. this John Major/Edwina Currie thing is weird, seems contrived to raise the profile of two non-newsworthy ex politicians . Read the article in Guardian Unlimited written by John Major's editor Julian Glover who claims that JM did indeed mention EC and wanted her to be mentioned in a small way in his autobiography but that this was lost in the editing process and that both editor and writer didn't notice that EC was not, in fact, mentioned at all. Now I can't help thinking that the affair must have been on a very superficial level if JM did not realise that EC's ego would not cope with this at all and that she would react to her dismissal in a very public way
